ONE ROOM CHALLENGE - WEEK THREE
It’s Week THREE of the One Room Challenge® and I’m excited to wrap up the dreaming and get started on the doing!
Last week I shared the mood board I created for the loft space, and since then I’ve already made a few tweaks. Here’s the modified mood board with a few new selections of furniture and décor I was more confident about receiving during the 8-week period.
Before selecting any furniture or décor, I needed to decide what wallpaper from Spoonflower I wanted to use in the loft space. Spoonflower has over one million options when it comes to wallpaper. I wanted to select something bold and patterned that would complement the color scheme of the main floor of my home including green, mauve, blush and black, while being a bit more boho, cultural, and playful than the look and feel downstairs.
Before I get into the options I considered, I’d love to share a little more about Spoonflower and why I love them so!
Located in Durham, North Carolina (just north of my home state), Spoonflower got its start 14 years ago helping consumers source and digitally print a few yards of unique fabric or wallpaper for one’s home without breaking the bank. Fast-forward to today, Spoonflower has grown into a community of tens of thousands of artists that are able to sell their designs to a global audience, express their perfect style, and power their entrepreneurial spirit in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. Designers can see their designs come to life on wallpaper, home décor, and fabric.
After spending hours perusing several gorgeous options that could adorn the walls of my loft space, here are a few that I narrowed it down to:
1. Blushing Boho Botanicals by nanshizzle
2. Olive Green Mudcloth Weaving Lines by misentangledvision
3. William Morris Antiqued Pimpernel by peacoquettedesigns
4. Rose King Protea Art Deco by helenpdesigns
5. Becca by scarlette_soleil
6. Neutral Boho Chic by smokeinthewoods
7. I’ll Fly Away by nanshizzle
Though it was very difficult to choose, as you can see from the mood board, I ultimately decided on Option #5! Becca in soothing greens, pinks, peaches by scarlette_soleil was the perfect balance of color that beautifully complemented the color palette I wanted to create, provided a larger printed pattern that wouldn’t appear too busy, and gave a moody, yet not too feminine vibe for the room.
Stay tuned as next week I reveal each of the products I plan to buy.
Be Blessed,
Amber
