Are you still on the hunt for great gifts this holiday season? Well with Christmas less than two weeks away, I challenged myself to find some last minute presents for cheap at one of my local Marshalls stores here in San Antonio.
Whether it’s a stocking stuffer, White Elephant gift or thoughtful token of appreciation you’re looking for, Marshalls has a variety of great gift ideas for the holidays and any occasion. Here are a few items I found within an hour and all for under $20:
MUGS
I personally collect mugs and don’t feel like I could ever have enough. Here are some cute mugs and travel cups I found, from Rae Dunn to Kate Spade, and each for less than $8.
DATEBOOKS
Nothing says Happy New Year like a new agenda or datebook. For organized girls like myself, many purchase a new one each year. Why not gift one of these pretty ones with scriptures or cute Kate Spade covers for someone you know? From $4.99 to $12.99 each!
BOOKS
Whether it’s a NYT Bestseller, cookbook or coffee table book, you can’t go wrong with a nice book as a gift. Life Hack: Not every HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls has a book collection in their store, but if you do find them, they’ll be much cheaper than you’ll find them on Amazon or in Target or Barnes & Noble.
THROWS
Because what’s better than snuggling up on the sofa and binge-watching for hours under a warm blanket? Marshalls has a ton of beautiful throws in a variety of colors. Love this one I found for $16.99, also Kate Spade (there’s a trend here… LOL).
LETTER BOARDS
Letter boards have been all the rage recently. They’re great for displaying messages your office, kitchen, nursery or just a random hallway in your home. From $7.99 to $19.99, Marshalls has them available in a variety of sizes with different frame materials to match any space.
CANDLES
I’m obsessed with candles! My favorite is the volcano candle from Anthropologie. But if you don’t want to spend over $30 for a candle, Marshalls has a great selection down the aisles in the front and back of the store. You can usually score a great one for less than $10.
ELECTRONICS
Anytime I have to buy a last minute gift for a guy friend, family member or colleague, I head to HomeGoods or Marshalls and grab a cellphone charger or accessory from the front of the store. Marshalls had a wall full of nice cellphone covers, headphones, portable chargers and cords for less than $15 each.
BEAUTY AND TOILETRIES
Self-care is the best care! Why not help your loved one relax or boost their self esteem? Marshalls is filled with cosmetics, fragrances, toiletries and beauty supplies cheaper than Target and department stores. I even found a few diffusers, humidifiers and heating pads. These are great stocking stuffers for anyone in need of a little pampering.
GIFT CARDS
If you don’t have time to wander the aisles, there’s no shame in just picking up a gift card. Marshalls has plenty of them and greeting cards to stuff them in for your last minute gift. The best part? Their gift cards are redeemable at all TJX Companies stores! That’ll give the recipient options when shopping for any item they’d like.
Once you’ve found the perfect gift, don’t take the lazy way out with a random gift bag! Though Marshalls sells those too, they’ve got a variety of bows, ribbon, wrapping paper and other items to wrap your present in. Here are a few other options that you may also like - stockings, baskets and boxes - all less than $20 each!
Now that you’ve completed your gift shopping, if you’re unable to hand deliver them or don’t want to over pack your luggage for your flight home for the holidays (between heavy sweaters and presents, 50 lbs can add up quickly), take a quick trip to your local post office. USPS’s Priority Mail Flat-Rate Boxes range from $7.20 to $18.90 each. That includes the box (no matter the weight), tape, postage, up to $50 of insurance and a fast delivery of 2-3 days! You really can’t beat it, especially when shopping last minute!
I hope you found this blog post helpful as you wrap up your holiday shopping! Don’t fight the crazy crowds in the department stores, shopping malls and overpriced retailers. Stop by your local Marshalls! I’m confident you’ll find the perfect present for every person on your list!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I wish you all many blessings as we enter the new year!
