Nephews' Bedroom Makeover

Earlier this spring, I teamed up with my friends at The Home Depot to give my two nephews’ bedroom a fresh new look!

I’m so grateful to live two hours away from my sister, brother-in-law, and their children (aka my niece and nephews) and enjoy visiting them in Tennessee often. Since they moved into their new home, I’ve wanted to give my nephews’ bedroom a much needed refresh, so I was excited to transform it with the help of my friends at The Home Depot!

Here’s a look at the BEFORE:

Choosing a new paint color for your home doesn’t have to be hard! In fact, it’s the easiest and most budget-friendly way to transform any room! My nephews love blue and green, and I wanted to choose colors that were playful and inspiring, yet will grow with them in age.

I selected two colors from the Behr Designer Collection, which is a palette full of designer-approved tried and true colors. I decided to use Arrowhead Lake and Amazon Jungle in a two-tone, color block design to give the boys a custom look with Behr Dynasty’s one-coat finish.

My nephews and their little sister were super stoked to help! So I put them right to work, and my sister and brother-in-law also pitched in by finishing up the painted walls, and refreshing the ceiling, doors, and trim! Just like magic, this once dated room has a completely new look and feel!

After the paint dried, I felt like it still needed a little something extra! So I decided to add a few more colors by creating a fun reading nook accent wall to inspire my nephews each day! I brought in Glidden’s Always Blue and hand-painted a landscape (inspired by the mountains in Chattanooga, Tennessee) to give their book ledges a more colorful background, rearranged the furniture a bit, then pulled in new blue and green abstract area rugs, and table lamps from The Home Depot!

After reframing their artwork and posters, adding new bedding, and styling the space, I am SO proud of the phenomenal bedroom I was able to create for my two favorite boys in the world! The love their new bedroom, spend so much more time in it, and now their little sister is patiently waiting for her turn next! LOL
